My daughter and I have a I-485 pending and it may get approved before next june when I plan to send my daughter (7) abroad for a year. My questions are:
If GC doesn't get approved by April should I get an advance Parole for her?
If it does get approved should i still get one so she has no problem returning after being away for over 6 months?

Moonmosaic, if you want to send your daughter outside the US for a year, be careful because she might lose her permanent residency.
If you apply for Advance Parole and she leaves before the CG gets approved, it's better if she goes outside the US for a limited time only, because she will still need to appear to the interview for the approval of AOS.
If she gets her GC approved before she leaves, she won't need the AP anymore (the GC alone will suffice) BUT, USCIS shows 1 year abroad as the limit after which they will consider her permanent residency abandoned. From what I heard, anything over 6 months is up to the IO at the POE to decide if the PR is still in place or not. You could file for a Reentry Permit, which will give her better chance of being able to come back after the year abroad.
