depature date after h-1b expires

When would I depart the States after the employment period is over?
My employment starts from 7/1/2005 to 6/30/2006.

I don't have H-1b (I-797) yet, but I should be getting it soon.
Do I have to get out of the states in 6/30/2006?
Or are there any grace periods?

There are no grace periods. You can apply for Business visa if you think taking care of affairs is going to take time beyond the duration of H1. Application for Bvisa should be sent while the H1 is valid.
