Departure stamp on passport

Hi,

I made two trip in the past 5 years and I am wondering if we need to have departure stamps (from USA) on our passports. I have only arrival stamps with date but no departure stamps for both the trips. Is it normal? On the other hand I have both arrival and deparure stamps from India. Please share your experiences.

US does not have departure controls at the airports - which means your passport is NOT stamped at departure like in most other countries. The way they will typically process departures is that airlines collect the I-94 or I-94W forms and forward those to the immigration service for processing.

There are no exit stamps from USA (when you departure from USA). just only entry stamp when you arrive at POE at any airport in USA except land port (sometimes they don't stamp it at the land port) and seaport.

Airline ticket counter scans your passport into the system when you departure so All USCIS computer system have your records.
