Departing GC Holders

I am planning to leave the US for a week. I am from one of the 25 SR countries. When I entered the US in 02/01, I entered on an immigrant visa. They took my fingerprints and picture. This made me an immigrant, right? so I did not have to do the SR thing because I did not enter on a non-immigrant visa. I read that people from the 25 SR countries must appear before a custom officer at the airport before leaving, is this true for PRs or is it only for those on non-immigrant visa. I am so confused. Please help with your experience.

special registration is for non-immigrants only, not for LPRs.
