i am a u.s. citizen. went to india for studies. got married. he came here was granted permanent residence. we divorced after 3 years due to family reasons. during his citizenship interview he was denied as the officer said it was a false marriage. it was a real marriage and we had proof. now we are friends and he wants to become a u.s. citizen. what can be done? any advice appreciated

After 5 years as a permanent resident, he will be eligible for citizenship on his own merit regardless of the marriage. That's assuming they didn't revoke his green card because of the "fake marriage".
