Delaying FP to get married.

I have I-485 RD: may1 2001, ND July20, 2001, The FP date was nov 3 and I asked for that to be rescheduled. Haven\'t heard from them since. Is that normal?
I am leaving for India later this week, can I schedule FP again? Please
let me know if any of you have any experience in this.
I am basically delaying the 485 approval. Is there any other way to do this?
