Delaying Approval - pls advise

Hello GC Gurus -

This is a question of a different kind.

Is there a way to delay 485 approval by 3-6 months? The reason - I need to marry before my approval, and it looks like my approval is round the corner ( WAC-02-034-XXXXX).


From my research, I heard that one way is not to send the RFE response.

Any inputs would be appreciated.

If your FP is already done, then all you can do is to pray that you get a RFE. If you get a RFE, you have 84 days to respond. That will give you enough time. If you don't reply, your application will be cancelled.
Try to get married before the approval. You can do a court marriage if you know whom you are gonna marry. You can file I-824 if your approval comes after your marriage and before her coming to US. That takes 4-6 months to get the GC for her from the consulate.
