Hello,
I have applied for GC for my mom from California and it a little over 6 months with not much movement. For her birth certificate, as it was not available we had submitted the non availability certificate issues by the Indian local government. We got a letter requesting that we need to submit secondary evidence for the birth. We did submit an affidavit from a relative. This was received by national benefits center on August 24th 2012.
I took an infopass with the San Jose office last week and they said that they do not have visibility into the NBC and cannot tell me the reason for the delay. They sent an internal communication and said I should get a response within 15days.
My mother has to travel to India in March so planning to file I131 for her. The timeline for which says 3 months.
My questions:
Anyone in similar situation regarding request for information process? What is your timeline?
Should I apply for Advance parole as the timeline says 3months, wondering if she might get her GC prior to that?
Confused on what the next steps should be.?
