Delay in receipt of I-140 application sent in december 2007

MY lawyer sent I-140 & I-485 to Nebraska on 19th dec. USPS tracker says it was received on 20th December 2007. Lawyer/I haven't gotten any receipt notices yet. Talked to (I think) National customer service center today. Was told to wait for 2-3 weeks more.

I thought the receipt-ing delays were over. Has anyone else been in a similar situation. Thanks.
 
Sorry to ask an obvious question, but were your checks cashed? If so, you can look on the back of the cancelled check (even online if your bank doesn't send them to you) and find your receipt number. Use that receipt number online to see the status.

Or are you saying that your checks weren't even cashed?
 
My 140 and 485 (plus I-131 and I-765) was received by NSC on Dec 26. Receipt Notices received by end of January.
 
Thanks, shankyyy. I'd try to persuade my lawyer to call NSC. I am worried because even the check is not yet cashed.
