Delay in getting EAD??? Texas Service Center

Hi,
I filed my i485 On sep 2002. Got Receipt Date on Oct 15th 2002. I have been waiting for EAD for last 4 months. I checked the status on the web.
I saw this Information

"On February 11, 2003, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready"

Does Anyone Know How long it takes to prepare the EAD card & Send it to my address. If i don't get EAD card in my hand for long time after approving, can i call INS to FAX the Photocopy of approved one OR Can i get just EAD number to use it for my future(applying for new jobs).

Please tell How the EAD number looks like.
Is it same as Number in i 765 receipt which i got from INS at the time of applying.

Note: I have been calling TSC on week days(from 8am to 4pm central time) for 3days to speak with them, I heard recorded message, INS is closed at this time for emergency. plz call on regular time.
What is going on TSC?????.

TSC is close due to bad weather. They had snow that turned to ice. My bet for you is to call them back on monday. I got this information from a friend that lives where TSC is located because me too I tried calling them and got the same message you got. Hope this help.
