Delay in FP at TSC

My husband filed N400 at Texas Service centre in April 2003 and got the receipt in May. But after that he is still waiting for the finger print letter. It is almost 6 months and he has not received the FP letter. Is this common? Did any body else have/had the similar problem?

Also he has now moved to Boston and intimated BCIS the change of address. Any idea how long it will take to move the case from one service centre to other?

Thanks

6 months sounds awfully long. Probably something got missed in the mail or in the transfer of service centers. The move from one service center to another is very likely to add time - how much is anybody's guess (at least 2-3 months I would guess).

Hi mgh2001, He moved to Boston only 2 weeks back and intimated BCIS last week. So I guess it may not be due to the transfer of service centres. Probably lost in mail?? Is there a way to check whether BCIS sent a FP letter?

Thanks

Yes. The BCIS case status website shows that the application was received on 23rd April and it is taking 755 to 999 to process this kind of case.

But it does not show anything about FP..

An immigration lawyer in Atlanta told me that, currently, end-to-end N-400 processing there (in Atlanta District Office) takes about 6 months. This is also quoted on the following link.

Your wait for FP looks a trifle long. It appears that there is not much you can do about this until after a year's wait, when BCIS will entertain a query. However, a wait longer than 6 months for FP is not unknown.

Can any one state if the FP status (whether Notice Sent or FP received) ever appears on the BCIS on-line status web page?

yes, statistically looks like long time for FP. Is there any way we can find the status of the application either by contacting local Congressman or immigration lawyer??
