I sponsored my parents for green cards through the consular process. They were approved. On arrival at ORD they were told their medical evaluations were expired. Their documentation from the embassy had said the medicals would last for a year. The immigration official at ORD said their medicals only lasted 6 months. They were given deferred inspection papers and their passports were retained. They were told to repeat the medicals and report for deferred inspection in 1 month in Louisville, KY. They have repeated the medicals and are due to report for the inspection. I month is just about up, I have called the immigration official at the deferred inspection site and he states that their documents have not arrived from Chicago. I am worried that their documents and passports have been lost by the immigration officials. Does anyone have any ideas or information on this sort of thing.
