Decision after RFE

Hi All,

How long does it normally take USCIS to make a decision after receiving response for an RFE ?

I received an RFE on my I-485 application (ND 01/14/2004, VSC) and they received my response on March 25, 2005. But, so far I didn't receive any decision on my case.

Someone told me that I need to call USCIS, if I don't receive a response within 60 days. Is it true ? Does it help calling USCIS in my case?

Customer Service

Is there any other number to call USCIS than (800) 375-5283 ? I've called this number and was on hold for more than 30 Minutes before I could speak to a 'not so friendly' customer service representative, only to realize that they know nothing more than the online status. They don't even know about this whole visa numbers not available shit.

I can't understand what's the point in calling them. And if you ever call this number, please pray (while you are on hold) that you are not going to get connected to a lady named 'Nancy'. Because she sucks at what she is being paid for, Customer Service.

Hey,

My 485 RFE response was received on 3/25/2005 and status changed on 3/28/2005. I did call 800 number and gave all details on 5/31/2005. No response yet. My 485 RD was 4/23/2004. What is yours?

485 Rfe

Hi Chakri,
Can you please let me know what was the RFe about on your 485?
My on-line status say requested for more information, so trying to find out what can be the kind of RFEs.

Thanks

The RFE was for my birth certificate and my wifes medicals. I don't have a birth certificate, so I've sent couple of affidavits. Then they asked for a 'non-availability' certificate from the registrar.

Oh I see,
That is an easy one to respond. Good for you, it was not a complicated one.
Hope INS gave you enough time to respond.

Thanks

Case Status

I've just received a written response from USCIS, for my status enquiry (in 15 days!). And that letter says:
"We are currently waiting for the fingerprint results to be received."
It's been more than an year since we gave our fingerptints and we did not receive any new notice asking for the same. So, what could this letter mean ?

fingerprints expire every 15 months so they may send you another notice requesting fingerprints. All this does is delay the processing of your application.

I've checked my previous records and realized that we gave fingerprints in Nov 2004. So, it's not time for a second round yet. Is it possible that they didn't receive the results since November ? How can I check that ?

As I posted before, the finger prints may be rejected by FBI so USCIS need to reschedule another FP for you.
