Friends,

I have decided to move to Canada from US with my family in next 6 months. I have time till end of the year. I am IT( J2EE) professional with more than 6 yrs of US experience.

Any idea as to how the current job market for J2EE professionals in Toronto area?

Can I just show our PR cards and move or is there any formalities at the Border?

One of my Vehicle is different than what it was when I landed. Will it be a problem to take that vehicle now?

I believe goods to follow list is only valid for a year. Will I be able to take my things there? Ofcourse I have to work out the math if it makes sense to take things from US or buy fresh there.

Anyone who moved from US recently? Your inputs will be priceless.

Thanks for all the help !

-- Job market in Canada is tough - especially for the new immigrants.

-- Your PR cards are good enough to show that you are PRs of Canada. (It also depends on when you landed and based on that if you are satisfying the rules of PR of Canada).

One of my Vehicle is different than what it was when I landed. Will it be a problem to take that vehicle now?

-- Yes. You need to find out whether they will accept it into Canada and if yes, what the tax will be on that vehicle.

-- Yes. You might have to pay tax (duty) on it, if they are not in your GTF list.

Thanks for your inputs bigboy.

Can anyone working in Java field in Toronto area please reply on the job market scene there. Few people I have talked to told me that currently java is in good demand there.

With job market, I hope you know how to pray and pray hard I mean.

Canada is great but when it comes to jobs for immigrants that is like going through a needles hole.

My advise for you is to look at US market. However canadian citizenship does help in the future for finding jobs around the world.
