Finally, I have good news on our immigration front :)

One half of our immigration battle is over! My wife who is the primary applicant just got approved, recieved 2 approval e-mails about 40 minutes ago. My case is still pending, but going by recent approvals, looks like derivatives get approved sometimes after primary.

This approval fills me primarily with relief. We just had our first baby 2 1/2 months ago, and my wife wanted to apply for leave of absence to be with him, especially since we do not have grandparents help right now. However, a 15% layoff is looming in her company next month, and she had to get back to work and send baby to a daycare. Now perhaps, with GC in hand she can ask her company for longer LOA.

I-140 RD: May 29 2002
I-140 AD: Sept 12, 2003

I-485 RD: Dec 9 2002
FP1: Feb 2x, 2003
FP2: July 17, 2004 (scheduled Aug 18, 2004)
I-485 AD: (Primary app) Nov 2, 2004

Incidentally, I am quite surprised to have got this approval today, I thought election day was a holiday for federal govt offices!
 
LUD Pattern

Primary app: 03/05/2003 (FP1); 08/26/2004 (I assume FP2, but no message change); 10/05/2004; 10/06/2004 (EAD and AP approved on 10/7); 11/02/2004 (message changed to approval)

Derivative: 03/05/2003 (FP1); 02/11/2004 (EAD 2 related VSC messed up big time with my EAD); 08/26/2004 (I assume FP2, but no message change); 10/05/2004; 10/06/2004 (EAD and AP approved on 10/7) message still says FP1 recieved on 03/04/2003... Approval: Waiting
 
Congratulations on the baby and the approval. Nice to hear a story where everything has worked out! :)
