My Case has been transferred to Detroit, MI. I have moved from Detroit to Columbus, Ohio in July 2003 and updated my address also ( By calling UCIS and AR-11 form). But I have been transffered to Detroit.
The funny thing is I did my Second FP on 18 Dec 2003 in Coulmbus, Ohio ( I received the 2 FP notice in Ohio).

Now I have changed my Employer from 12 Jan 2004.

Please advise, WHAT ARE MY BEST OPTIONS and How to Reshedule the interview in Columbus, Ohio.


On February 2, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in DETROIT, MI for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in DETROIT, MI will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.



RD (I-485) 14th Feb 2002
First FP 6th May 2002
RFE 31st July 03 for Medical Exam (Responded on 12th August)
Second FP Done 18th Dec 2003

Talk to your lawyer

Otherwise you can go to your local INS at Columbus and explain the situation.........................................


But Lawyer is the best option

Also see which local center is taking more time to schedule interviews.

Take advise from lawyer. I think the best bet for you will be to fly detroit and give the interview as moving the files to ur state will take more time and hassle but again, talk to ur lawyer.

Detroit to Columbus is only a couple of hours drive so why bother? Just take a day off from work and get to your interview whenever you are assigned a date.
