Deadline of submitting the DS-230 and DSP-122

Hi all,

My case number is 014AS00010XXX. I'm current a student in US.
Since my wife and I, we travel a lot outside us, and will back to US in the end of Aug.
I'm worry about the immigration tendency which might be a problem when we back to US, so I didn't mail these two forms. However, I'm also worry about missing the deadline.

So, if anybody know what'll happen if I mail too late? Eg. if the bulletin announce up to #15000 in Oct (which is announced in Aug.), but I mail after the announcement.

Is that OK? Or, don't worry the immigration tendency, just mail the documents ASAP??

Your number won't be current for many months yet - probably summer/late summer 2014. So - it won't make any difference if you don't submit your forms for some time yet. Just make sure you submit them well before (perhaps a month or so) before the VB announcing your number range. So perhaps plan to submit the forms around March or April if that suits your travel at that time.

Regarding the declaration of intent to immigrate. I think you are right to be concerned. Your number is highish so you SHOULD be called before the visas run out BUT if for any reason you don't or your application is rejected then you will have caused a problem for yourself for nothing. You also need to confirm that you meet the other requirements (education or work experience plus financial ability to survive). You need to make sure there are no issues that will catch you out.
 
Yeah britsimon, you're right. The sooner month of my number in the past was DV2011 in 2010 Nov.
I guess it'll be fine to mail it around Sep.
