Hi,
I've just filed an I-130 for my Pakistani spouse, and was wondering if anyone else here is filing though Islamabad, too. I've seen a lot of Pakistanis on here, but all of them are filing in the US - as a USC residing in Pakistan for the past 10 years, I'm allowed to file directly at the US Embassy in Islamabad (after submitting tons of evidence showing that I actually am a RESIDENT of Pakistan and not just visiting (property documents, education transcripts, bank statements, etc).
Does this count as DCF? What actually IS DCF? Is it just filing of the I-130 in the foreign embassy and everything else is done in the US, or is the entire process carried out in Pakistan, or just parts of the petition, or what? How much faster does the GC get approved as compared to filing in the US?
I haven't been able to find anyone else who filed in Pakistan as a Pakistani resident.. and from what I've seen at the Embassy, very few people do it.. I've been there thrice in the past month, and in the entire three times, I only saw 2 other couples filing the I-130, even though I was there the entire time that the I-130 section was open (it's only open Mon-Wed, for 2 1/2 hours a day, and you must file the petition in person)
The I-130 was officially completed and 'filed' at the Embassy on August 21, but the guy there told me that the woman who would look at it (the American officer) was out of town and wouldn't be back until the first week or mid-September :/ I don't know if she's the one who would approve it, or if she'd just 'look' at it and make sure it's complete? The Pakistani worker there already made sure it was complete (I know, cos he made me come back three times with extra documentation!)
Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone else from Pakistan file there?
