One of my friend's I-485 is transferred on 16 of the July to Dallas office. He has already bought the tickets to India and traveling on August 20. Does any one know how much time it takes in Dallas to schedule the Interview. As per BCIS web site currently Dallas office is working December 2003 I-485 cases.
His RD is October 2002 and did his FP in Jan 2004.
When can he expect the interview?

It took me 4 months to get the interview date.
One thing to keep in mind is that there would not be a lot of time between the interview date and when you receive that letter. Mine was about a week. And the sad thing is the only way you would get that interview notice is thru mail. Your online status does not change and if you are not checking your mail regularly, then you might miss that date

I think if you have an attorney the notice should go to him too.
so if you have an attorney you are safe.

I saw some cases transferred in May have done their interview in June. Since he is returning back in September his worry is he should not get call before that.

Are they going by RD or transfer date?

That is really good news within a month he got letter, can you please let me what documents did they ask in interview letter mostly I should expect letter within 10 days.

His Interview went nice. No serious questions asked. Asked does he have any criminal records? Officer was just joking through out the interview like 10 minutes. Out of that 5 minutes went in filling up I-89 and index finger printing. They came out with stamping happily.

He did not even check birth certificates. Asked the employment letter and marriage certificate.
