Dallas Timeline

It normally takes 30-45 days for the check to be cashed & the receipt to be mailed. I have filed the same apps for my parents that u have filed. My receipt date for those apps is Jan 2002....no progress on the apps yet. It takes about 4 mos for the AP. Long wait with no end in sight. Was told that it normally takes 21 mos for the I-485 to be processed at the Dallas Dist. Office....the I-130 & 485 are processed simultaneously. Good luck!

could you please tell me what will happen next? and what is the timeline? such as FP.

I have not filed Medical. Do you get letter asking for medical? i hope i could bring it to interview.

I am waiting for AP so I could leave the country.
 
AP normally takes 3 mos.....however, my parents have been waiting for approval of their 2nd AP for which the receipt date is Jan 2003. Will be inquiring about that soon. Applicants do not go for fingerprinting & medicals unless BCIS tells you to do......my parents' I130 & I485 date is Jan 2002, & they've not received any letter to do FP & medicals.
I recently inquired by calling the BCIS national toll-free # & they told me that the normal timeframe for I485 processing at the Dallas Office is 21 mos & 3 mos for AP.
Have you been sponsored by a U.S Citizen?
 
The receipt usually comes within a couple of weeks after the check is encashed by BCIS. I do not know about whether it would be a problem to convert from B2 to GC...if you've been traveling on a B2 between your home country and USA for a while, then I guess your defense that you changed your mind about immigrating to U.S would gain more credence. Just my opinion.....
