I have been reading some of the threads regarding the Dallas program, and can not find the answer to my questions. I didn't post this as a reply because it is more a series of questions.
My husband and I submitted our forms I-485 and I-130 and interviewed on the same day. We qualified for the program, and I returned for fingerprinting a few weeks later.
I recently recieved a letter stating that my application would not be able to be processed in 90 days. It appears that this is letter is sent out after 70 days, if the application is not processed yet.
Here's what I desperately want to know:
1. Is it likely that my delay in processing is due to some problem with my background check (haven't done anything illegal) or just an influx of applications, making it difficult for the office to meet their deadlines?
2. The letter states that I can apply for my Employment Authorization Document and has an appointment date an time scheduled. Will I have to wait the 3 months or will they give it to me on the spot?
3. If the application can not be processed in the 90 days, does that mean they remove it from the program and process it in several months/years instead -- or will still process as quickly as possible?
If anyone has the answers to these questions or any experience with the program -- good or bad -- please let me know.
ALSO -- has anyone else gone past the 90 days, and do you know why?
Thankyou!
Michele
