I have posted my time line before..

N400 Application: Aug 15 2002

Oath : May 20 2003 (With Senator's help).

I am from Dallas.

Thanks Sv_Nagari for posting the timelines again. I have applied in Dec of 02, got fingerprinted in first week of Feb 03 and waiting for interview. I was hoping to see if any new cases in the Dallas area have been approved in Sep, Oct, Nov or Dec 02.

I have heard of a couple of people from Houston who have interviews in July 03 and have applied one month after me in end of Jan 03. Trying to figure out why is Dallas a little slower than Houston in processing N400 apps?

I also have to apply for my wife after my citizenship(luckily she is here) and am eagerly waiting for my interview.

Senators help?

Hi,
can anyone eloborate how a senator can help in expedite a already slow citizenship application process? Can you share your experiences, do you meet with him in person? or just send in a letter to his office.
Thanks.

Write a letter

Looks like democracy needs to playa role here. I have a sample letter that I whs to share. Pls use this only if:

1. You did not make any changes to your name, residence etc.
2. You know that your case is straightforward

Senators are like public resources. Do not abuse them. If you send the letters to Texas senators be judicious in sending it to them so that they can prioritize matters. Finally, modify the letter as you see fit to better describe your personal situation:

Dear Senator,

I write today to express my complete dissatisfaction at the Citizenship approval process in the Dallas metroplex. The problem is the lack of information and delay of Citizenship oath adjudication in the Dallas metroplex. Based on information from other BCIS processing centers it appears that the oath adjudication has been indefinitely stalled in the Dallas area. Multiple inquiries into the Dallas BCIS have not yielded a suitable explanation.

We are proud residents of Texas and America. Today’s Immigrant residents are tomorrow’s citizens and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of this great nation. I applaud president Bush’s efforts to cut the time needed to process an immigration application to an average of six months. As such, I am disappointed that Dallas has one of the most sluggish oath adjudication processes.

Today, I am requesting your assistance in last step of my citizenship processing. More specifically, I am requesting you assistance in the speedy processing of our citizenship oath.

My specific details are as follows:

1. Name:
2. Priority Date:
3. Finger Print Date:
4. Interview Date

Yours Sincerely,

Smooth oath in Dallas

All,

I had my intereview in Dallas today. My date line is as follows:

1. PD: Jan 03 2003
2. FD: Feb 15 2003
3. ID: Sep 19 2003
4. OD: Sep 24 2003

The folks at the Dallas SC were polite and my interview went smoothly. The interviewer asked me if I had travelled outside US and I said yes and he asked me to tell the dates of travel. After the interview, the interviewer congratulted me for passing and asked me to wait. He mentioned that after reverification (where another office validates the Interviewers work) I would get my oath letter (445). After waiting for almost 45 minutes an officer came out and handed some of us the oath letter inviting us to the oath ceremony on the Sep 24 2003.

All in all my experience at the Dallas SC has been a very good one. Pls note my case was straight forward. meaning that there were no changes in name, no relocation etc. I did not contact any congressman and let the government machinary do its work.

This forum has been extremely useful for me. Thanks to all.
