My mother recently became a US Citizen and filed application I-130 for unmarried child over 21, for me to obtain my green card. I was helping her register to vote when I told her, "I recently googled my name, and it stated that I was registered to vote". She told me that I should probably let my lawyer know, because that isn't right, and it could negatively impact me. Many phone calls later, it was confirmed that back in 2016 I had been registered to vote. I have never voted nor received a ballot; thus, I never knew I had been registered for so long. The next day I immediately withdrew my registration. I have no recollection of how I registered. I was 20 years old when I was registered, and I am now 27.
I am looking for feedback on how to continue about this. Is anyone in/was the same predicament? How will this affect my application for permanent residency?
I am really worried and would appreciate any feedback.
PS-I am waiting to meet with my lawyer next week.
