Hi,
I came to US on March 2000 and my visa was stamped valid till Dec 2002. After which I had changed employers and recently I had sent my & my wife's passport with the new I-797 with my present employer with the new I-94 pinned in my passport. My previous I-94 (before this new I-94 was valid till Apr 15, 2004.). My new I-797 is valid till Mar 28, 2006. I got my passport back with 221(g) and stating the next step as "You visa expired more than one year ago. Per regulations, you require a personal interview with a consular officer. You must apply for a new visa overseas at a U.S embassy or consulate that processes nonimmigrant visa applications". My old visa was stamped "Cancelled without prejudice". So what should I do now. Can I stamp the passport whenever I go to India, or should I do it immediately. Does this condition affect my status. Pls advice.
Thanks,
Satsmi
