I submitted I-485, 130, 131, 765 all at once and finished my biometrics appointment and currently under being reviewed.
At the time of submission, I indicated that I'm still working for my current STEM employer, but can I quit the job and terminate STEM OPT now?
If I do that, how can I let USCIS know about my employment status? Or will they find out as my designated school official will terminate my SEVIS record? If I go unemployed, I will have about 130 days of grace period and if I terminate, I will have about 90 days to remain in the US lawfully. However, I've heard that once I-485 is pending, going out of status is forgiven.
Also I've had some contradicting information - as soon as I apply for AOS automatically violates F-1 as it's nonimmigrant visa. Does that mean as soon as I let my DSO /school know about my pending I-485, they will terminate it automatically?
