I am currently pursuing an MBA degree and am graduating in May 15. I will file for my OPT in the coming week. I have a job offer and my projected start date is July 15. I wish to trsvel to India between May and July.
Is it safe to travel on my OPT? Should I ask my company to file for my H1 once I am back from India or should I insist that they file it before I leave?
Will filing for an H-1 visa in July instead of April make any difference?
Most importantly, would it be safe to travel on an OPT with a job offer in hand?
