Hi,
I am working in US since 1999 on H1B visa. My green card petition is applied in March’04.
My visa (which is stamped in the passport) got expired in 1st week of April’05 (which was my 6th year). I am already in receipt of the 7th year H1-B & H4 (for wife and son) visa extension (I-797), which is valid till April’06.
Now, I am in a need to travel to UK (which is not my home country) as my client wants me to come there for business meetings. What are my options?
- Can I travel to UK and get the visa stamped from US consulate in UK? Is this possible?
- If yes, can I also carry passports and required documents for my wife, son and get their H4 visas stamped?
- If getting visa stamped in UK is not an option, what is the alternative? Is only alternative to travel to home country?
- If I apply for UK visa and that gets approved and I travel to UK. During my stay in UK, I will try to get visa stamping from US consulate? For any reason if that gets denied, what are my options? Will I be able to come back to US at all?
- Since I will be traveling alone to UK, if I get stuck because of visa denial, can I come back to US on the basis that my family is still here?
- Can US consulate in my home country consider such situation to provide with an early appointment?
Your response is much appreciated.
Thanks,
RainmanR
