Curios,why they don't give amnesty to all of us , at list to us that are here legally more than 12 years, some of you guys got asylum more than 5y's and still waiting for GC .They would save time get of backlog , and INS (what ever f**# they wan to call it) will get in right track??
Only this year 2003 more than 10.000 cases are filed to federal court. My attorney think I will wait anather 2-3 years till my case get in line.(FC)
"Take garbage from one garbage bag and dump it in other garbage bag" That's how some senators refer to us .
Why not amnesty ?????

Sorry the American people are opposed to an amnesty at this time because it will only reward lawbreakers.

And please do not lump asylees and illegal aliens together. They are two different categories of people.

If they enacted an amnesty and duplicated the language from the 1986 amnesty legislation, then yes asylees would be INELIGIBLE because asylum was very much a legal status.

As an aside, asylum is a very very good immigration status to have and I have a real hard time understanding the complaints here. Yes it is frustrating to wait so long, but at the end of the day it is not a big deal.

Oh, yes, do not compare asylees to the undocumented.
 
And I have been to many countries with my asylee status. Let me tell you this, YOu dont get treated differently just beacuse u have the BLUE document...I went to australia this past summer and got the visa in a day btw..and when i got there, i was surprised how nicely they treated me..even coming back..she was like looking at my ticket and goes "oh yes U.s document?..thats fine Sir"..

Its just when you enter this beautiful country of ours(u.S) and they hold the travel document and go "woahhhhhh waht is this?, god damnit..Hey michael have you seen something like this?"..its so funny
 
Absolutely agreed with you guys , asylees are not the same !
Undocumented aliens are totally deferent.
I am waiting ,and fitting very hard to have "Asylum Status" for 16 y's.
Well very screwed up. that's why I asked I did not know it , now I know that amnesty would not help or maybe will ,I am documented and waiting for miracle from federal court .
I had to run for life, and live everything behind, like most of you did, just I was not lucky,my first attorney totally misrepresented my case so IJ made decision in 10 minutes and we had to live court room, than came 2 line decision from BOA, now waiting for federal court to decide. very very mis justice,
not fair, Of course I am angry.
