Silly Man, I understand your frustration, but the rules for that e-mail are pretty clear. I am going to paste some relevant passages of the california service center guidelines document, please note the last paragraph about when to initiate an inquiry (using the JIT as the threshold reference). Said this I still understand your point, but unfortunately the number of days a case is pending doesn't matter, the JIT does.
Now, increasing the approval speed for everyone would be the great thing to have. Just imagine if someone at work was constantly asking you for updates on every task you have. How would your productivity be affected? Too many inquiries has to make the productivity issue worse not better at CSC. On the other hand if one doesn't contact them they may think you are a happy camper. Perhaps everyone is barking up the wrong tree and it would be better to put pressure on politicians to provide the promised funds for backlog elimination. Maybe a media campaign with the argument that it is better to have the immigrants documented, problem is they already take photographs and fingerprints early in the process so they don't have a hurry to approve, if they had to approve in order to get the fingerprints and pictures things would certainly move faster.
Enough ranting, here are the "copy and paste" from the CSC document:
"Inquiries and Status Checks The CSC has a two-step inquiry process. Below are important numbers and information concerning this process. Prior to beginning the inquiry process you are encouraged contact one of the below for information:
Initial Fax Inquiry: Available 8:00 AM R 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday (If you have a question about a form pending at the CSC please send a fax to the appropriate number listed below.)
Follow-up Inquiry: After fifteen working days, you may contact the California Service Center, Division XII for assistance. When you contact Division XII, please be prepared to answer the following questions: 1. When did you make your first inquiry? 2. What fax line did you send it to OR how did you make the inquiry? 3. Have you spoken with any BCIS officer concerning this inquiry/case? 4. If so, whom and when? 5. What guidance did you receive?
Inquiries and status checks should be initiated only after the Processing Time (JIT) Report (published bimonthly) date has elapsed for more than 30 days beyond the most current processing report."
My 2 cents.
