TRANSFER means EXPEDITE !?

TRANSFER might mean EXPEDITE for applicants with later WAC02 or WAC03, and even for cases filed in March or April 2002 if transferrd to "good" district office.

However, if this trend would continue, the backlog should start growing even at "good" district office.

Especially if you belong to one of "bad" district offices,
I think you had better contact your Congressperson to make CSC stop transfers right now.

...

Most of people seem not to be interested,
but it may be too late once your case is transferred to one of "bad" district offices.

Good Luck !!

The poll has problem.

It doesn't have an option: don't know or not clear.

"Most of people seem not to be interested,". Maybe, many people like me are not clear which one is better.

It is just a poll for people who are interested.

The reason behind the poll is that CSC has been transferring cases left right and center to the district offices. Basically the backlogs are moving out of CSC into the district offices which are not geared to handle so many background checks and interview requests. Now this is a major problem.

So the poll tries to draw light on what the immigration community feels about this trend. So either you would prefer your case to be pending in CSC or in the district office.

i think this basically means pushing backlog from CSC to
local district.

one of my friend's I485 file got transferred in FEB 2003 from CSC
to pheonix local center, he is still awaiting his approval.

this is too bad.

Bad news

In my opinion the local offices mainly deal with family-based immigrants. There were just few EB applicants who use to be transferred to the local office for an interview. Also – the local offices are much busier, because they deal with much more applicants. I have been waiting in a line in Santa Ana, LA and Laguna Niguel. The line in front of CSC is much shorter.
That said - I think the officers in the local offices are not experienced enough to deal with EB applications and on the other hand they are too busy so if this is indeed the plan to reduce the backlog – I think – it’s a bad news for all of us.

Please keep in mind that many of the transfers happen by mistake and the applications later are returned to the CSC. This happened with my case, which was transferred and then returned back to CSC.

For 400+ transfers of 12/10/2003,
I guess the CSC picked up a couple of cases per WAC date randomly in order to reduce the backlog at CSC,
and it must not be a mistake.
If it would continue, the CSC can transfer 3000 cases per month,
and 30% of us would be randomly transferred for next 6 months.

Already some of the district offices have more than 1 year wait period before they come to the transferred cases. Now, if this transfer continues, all the district office will have a similar waiting period and nothing good will happen to us ( the waiters!!)

So, the transfer is very bad.

Personally for me, I am in Atlanta and I dont want my case to be transferred here as I have wait for another 15-18 months before getting the adjudication.

So, I have voted for CSC.

I would like to know the reasoning behind the decision of those who have chosen transfer of cases to District offices over pending in CSC. I see we have 3 or so people who have chosen that.
