CPT help

I am currently working on my CPT(curricular practical training) on F1 visa. It expires on August 24th and since i havent yet received my OPT i was trying to extend my CPt for 2 more months. I send my I-20 to school to get stamped but unfortunately I-20 is lost somewher in the postal. It may reach there after 3 or 4 days . What will happen if i work( for 2 or 3 days) before getting the CPT extended. Will the INS know about this. my employer doesnt care or know about this. any problems with this??????/

It is illegal for both you and your employer if you work past your approved CPT period (even for a day). Best thing is not to work until you get the CPT extended.
