What kind of papers should they give you after the CP Procedure.
I guess they should stamp your passport with the I-551 stamp?

No Title

at the embassy , they cancel your old visas ( H1 / F1 ) .
then they give u a sealed packet , on the cover , their is a picture
of u and a immigrant visa .
No stamp in passport at the embassy .

when u land in USA , they stamp a I 551 , temporary evidence of lawful permanent residence stamp in your passport .
In a few weeks / months you get the actual plastic GC.

Is the emigrant visa in the passport?

Is the emigrant visa in the passport or it a separate document?

std - Immigrant visa is a doc like your H1/140 approvals

But is more colorful and has your picture, Alien Reg number and some other imp info. That is all you need to enter US. Nothing is stamped on your passport at the Consulate.

Once you eneter the US, Immigration officer takes your envelop that has your docs and the Immigrant Visa stapled on the top. He will then stamp your passport with 551
