CP to AOS: is the option worthwhile?

Hi all,

I have my CP application (pkt 3) with me. I had my I140 approved when I was single, but since I have married and need to add my wife to the application. Based on my previous posts and people's suggestions and experiences, I have spoken with NVC and have sent them my wife's BC and our MC. NVC has yet to acknowledge this info and change the beneficiary list. My initial plan was to get them to mail me a new pkt 3 before I send it on its way to STL. (after reading the posts of newchennai and others)

Now with all the changes to the processing in NVC after Oct 1, 2002 I wonder whether I should pull my application out from the CP line and opt for the AOS route?!

Has anyone ever gone this route? Pointers, suggestions, advice welcome.

What are these changes at the NVC since Oct1?

A lot of people have been alluding to them , but no one seems to post the precise changes.
