Got VISA today after successful interview on Dec 18th at chennai.

Experience is same as mentioned by Srifx.

I would like to thank this wonderful site, Rajiv Khanna, Srifx, Samind, and all others for helping whenever I used to ask questions.

Things asked:
1. My visa had expired they asked to give H1, took copy and gave back original
2. Recent Pay stubs are the needed document. The person before taking the documents asked everybody to include the recent paystubs.
3. Immigration photos to be attached with appointment letter (in the order - this was the change)
4. Write Case number and name and Address on back side of DDs.
5. Questions asked for me: Which compnay you work for ?
6. Questions asked for wife: Have you travelled to USA before ?

Thats all, be cool. Get the documentation proper. Everybody should be ok.

Congratulations. I have a question on I-134

I-134 Number 3: Put your spouse name. Do you put your spouse name again in the Person accompanying.. field in number 3?
 
POE Experience - Dec 26th - SFO

There were 3 couples in our flight as New Immigrants. Went thru the New Immigrant line and had to wait for 10 mins to INS inspector to show up. Finally a chinese lady came and she asked everybody to stand in one line and took finger prints for each one of us.

We were asked to go to different counters after the finger print. The same lady asked us to come to a counter and asked us whether Plastic card to be sent to the same address as mentioned in the VISA given by consulate. I wanted to give my brothers address as I might move from my apartment. She scratched the address and written the new address on VISA and another form.

Our passports were stamped with I-551 stamp valid for a year.

No questions asked. It was pretty smooth.
 
Social Security card info Update

Went to the Social Security office to remove " Work Authorization with INS Permission" for myself and applied for a new SSN for my wife.

Take
1. Passports.
2. Previous H1.
3. Previous H4.
4. Marriage Certificate.

The SSN Inspector mentioned we will get SSN in another 2 weeks.
 
GC over but Getting laid off on Dec 31st.

Thanks to everybody, had a successful CP interview on Dec 18th and reported to work today. As the company is closing down, I am also getting laid off on Dec 31st.

I am greatful to god that the GC interview came at the right moment.
Atleast the pain of legal hassels are over with this.

Your Job issue is a good news for the long term. GC pain is over. You can easily find a Job with GC. Atleast you don\'t have to worry about how long you have to stay with sponsor company. Good Luck for the future.
 
Got the plastic cards yesterday (01/22/2002)

We both received the Plastic cards yesterday(01/22/2002). It took only arround 3 weeks to get the Plastic card after POE.
