Hi everyone
For the last two days I was just skimming the CP forum. Thanks everyone for making this forum active and so informative. I have my I-140 just approved from NSC and about to perform CP at Chennai consulate. My LCA was approved on EB3 category. I was on H1B for 4 yrs(current status) and on F1 for 2 yrs .My wife is on H4 in US who just entered a month back. This is my current status in US and based on this I have the following questions, your valuable advice would help me a lot. Thanks in advance for your replies.

1) What are the sequence of events after I-140 is approved leading to CP interview? Based on my observation in this forum I see the following sequence
a. USCIS will send I-140 petition to National Visa Center (NVC)
b. NVC will create a case record and assign a case number
c. NVC will aslo send DS - 3032 (Agent of Choice and address) form to my attorney
d. DS 3032 to be sent back to NVC by my attorney
e. NVC wil mail IV fee bill to my attorney.
f. Attorney to pay fees to NVC
g. Once IV fee bill is paid, NVC will send Instruction Packet (Packet 3) of Forms to the attorney
h. Packet 3 to be filled and returned to NVC
i. NVC transfers the case to Consulate.
j. Consulate will schedule interview and also send Packet 4 to my attorney.
k. I carry Packert 4 and other docs for interview with the medical examination performed at Chennai.

Is the above sequence CORRECT and will NVC always correspond with my LAWYER only assuming I approve him as my representative in Step c).
2) What is a GOOD TIME(sooner the better) to add my wife into my GC application based on the ABOVE SEQUENCE since in my approved I-140 application I only have my name and not my wife's?
3) In step f) should I also pay the fee bill for my wife also? If so, how do I pay it, since my approved I-140 petition didn't have her in the application
4) What are the documents that the packet 3 sent to me will CONTAIN? What are the documents in Packet 3 that I have to RETURN to NVC (for MY WIFE and MYSELF) and what are the REST of the documents in Pkt 3 should I carry with me to the CP INTERVIEW for MY WIFE and MYSELF?
5)PCC
a) I understand that for my PCC I will contact the local Indian Embassy or consulate in US to request for my PCC , however for my wife I was advised to get the PCC from India. Please also note that she just got the Passport in the last 4 months from the Regional Passport Office Trichy,Tamil Nadu and has only resided in one single town X in Tamil Nadu. Based on that WHERE does she have to get the PCC certificates from India?
b) What would be good time to START applying for the PCC? I understand that PCC should be within 6 months of my interview date for its validity. Should it be finished before pkt 3 is signed and mailed out in step h) or can it be started after pkt 3 is mailed out but approved before I go for interview in Step k)

6)Medicals
a) Is there any DOCS that I should carry to the Lister labs for them to perform medical screening on my wife and myself?
b) Is there any DOCS that I should carry to the doctor's office for him/her to perform medical screening on my wife and myself? I understand that one of the docs is the lister lab report above. Is there any other docs like immunization, vaccination records that also has to be taken with the Lister lab report? Assuming we DON'T have VACCINATION records what would the DOCTOR DO and how long would the doctor's checkup be EXTENDED. I heard that typically the doctor's checkup takes only a day .

Please advice us.

First thing lots of questions :)

I will answer based on my experience
Sequence of events is pretty close to accurate, except that NVC receives reviews and completes P3 (takes abt a month for all three) and then sends it to Consulate

good time to add your wife --make sure you send the fees for both.

Packet 3 for me was just a one form DS 230 Part I no docuemnts aloing wtih it

PCC -- good time to apply after you send your packet 3 to NVC

Medicals - Im not yet there so dont know much about it.

/S

When your fee bill is generated, you will have to ask the NVC to generate a fee bill for your wife also. The usuall ask for the copy of the BC for it.

Don't just send the fees arbitrarily. Whole thing adds abt. 2 weeks to the process.

By the time your CP interview is up, your wife will be in the US for about 6 mos. (at least). So the PCC from US will suffice. Though it would not harm to clarify with the Chennai consulate.
b) What would be good time to START applying for the PCC?
Unless your attorney does not want to see the PCC, you can apply after the P3 is sent

{Nothing in particular. However carry your medical records if you any
with you. They will not expect to see any records anyway. In case of
women if they are in early stages of pregnancy, then you need to tell
that fact to the lab personnel}

b) Is there any DOCS that I should carry to the doctor's office for him/her to perform medical screening on my wife and myself? I understand that one of the docs is the lister lab report above. {Carry the Immunization records (if available) , medical records of any
major surgery or any medical condition, records of any medicines
that are being taken regularly.

The Physician conducts the physical exam and then gives vaccinations
based on the Lister Lab report. All included the visit should not last
longer than few hours}

Thanks in advance.
