Hello All:
What is the probability of getting rejected while doing CP say in Mumbai or getting rejected while handing the papers to the INS officer at the Airport after arriving from India ?
If you do get rejected, what are the consequences and solutions ?

Thanks

CP rejection is rare

The issues that will cause your Consulate Processing rejection are also grounds for AOS rejection.

Consulate does not have descretionary power in approving/rejecting Immigrant visas (unlike non immigrant visa H-1, F-1 where they excercise descritionary power). Unless there is a reasonable doubt that the docs you are furnishing are forged or there is a FBI clearance issue only then consular officer can reject your case.

Same is the case at the POE - if the immigration officer has reason to believe that the docs you are providing are forged only then they can stop you from entering the country.

Though it is Rare! !! !!!!

Dont think CP is a smooth process. It depends upon the counslar officer, he can use his descritionary power.

My CP was denied twice in Montral and got my Visa approved after five months with a lot of heck ups. The counslar officer (THE BEARD GUY) in Montreal was very nasty. He denied my VISA during CP interview, as i was working at different location than my original LC location. I was working for the same company but at different location.

It was a rare incident. As long as your paper work is carefully gathered you should not have any problem.

Good luck
