Hi all,

My case number is BMB2005…. and my priority date is 10/10/2003.

I have a few questions and your help will be much appreciated. For convenience I will split my questions into two separate threads. Here is my background, since December 1996 I lived in Singapore for 14 months, US for 5 and a half years and in Canada for 3 and half years now and only been to India twice (once for a few month and then for a few weeks)

1. Since my case had been forwarded to the Mumbai consulate ( Mumbai consulate received this file on June 7, 2005), both mine and my wife's passports had been renewed since then. What am I supposed to do in this case? Just present the new passports at the time of the interview or send copies of my new passport well ahead of time to the consulate?
2. I was asked by NVC to submit the PCCs along with my application. Although I have got PCCs from Canada, Singapore and India (Canada and India for my wife) in May 2005 and those were sent to the consulate, I wonder if those are still valid or do I need to get them again? The website says that the Indian PCC is valid for one year only, is this the case for me as well? How long Singapore and Canada PCCs are valid for? If I do need to get them again, and I can’t get them before my interview date, what happens then?
3. Do we also need to get PCC from district police station in India?
4. I last worked in the states in 2003 and since then I had been working in Canada. Do I still need to produce my tax documents from the US?

Thanks

Sudipta

Got the answer for this one as well. We will need to mention our new passport number in DS230 and show it at the time of interview.

Funny that the VFS agents couldn’t help me with the PCC question.

Update: So that people can look up for reference in the future..

2. Went ahead with newer Indian and Canadian PCC but submitted the old Singapore PCC and it worked.
3. Didn’t need the PCC from district police station in India.
4. Didn’t need to produce my tax documents from the US.

Thanks

Sudipta
