I am a US citizen and filed I-130 forms for both my parents earlier this year, which have been approved. We have received the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) form, which we will file with me (petitioner) as agent. I have also received the AOS Processing Fee Bill Invoice from the NVC.
In the next 2 days we intend to mail the DS-3032 form and make the fee payment. After that, what exactly is the process ? Could someone please send out the detailed steps ? I have a very sketchy understanding at this point.
If I understand correctly, I will receive I-864 forms at my address. Once I send it back, the file will be forwarded to Delhi consulate. What forms will the consulate send out to my parents ? Will they schedule an appointment date and send 1 forms packet (Medical tests, police clearance, Birth/Marriage Certs,...) to my parents, and then my parents show up for the interview will those paperwork and forms filled up ?? Or do my parents complete the forms packet (Medical, Police, Certs, etc..) and then send it to the consulate, and only then will they schedule the appointment.
I anticipate needing a few months to get the documents like Birth/Marriage certificate, since none exist yet, and also some time for Police clearance because of bureaucracy. Do we start collecting these now or the Consulate will send template forms to use in their packet ? Will the appointment date give my parents enough time to collect all these ? If they need to reschedule the date, does that cause a long delay ?
Appreciate hearing from anyone who went through this recently. I went through the consulate and other sites, but didn't get the answers to these details.
