CP priority dates for EB2 RIR - Chennai Consulate

Hi,

I am planning to decide if I should do CP or concurrent filing for my EB2 RIR application.

1) If i opt for CP, will my priority date (june 2002) be current by the time my I-140 gets approved? I am hoping that if I file my I 140 now in the NSC, it will be approved between July and Dec 2004.

2) How much does it usually take to get a CP interview once the I -140 is approved?

3) Nowadays, whats the priority date for Jan 2004 CP interviews?

Please feel free to provide any information or inputs that you think might help me decide between CP and concurrent filing.

Thanks,

Priority dates for employment-based category don't matter too much currently as visa numbers are all current for all the countries at present. While this is very likely to be so (including for India) in future as well, it's difficult to assume it as guaranteed during Dec 2004 timeframe.

Based on current speed and experiences people have quoted on this forum, it can take anywhere between 4 to 6 months from I-140 approval to CP-interview date (assuming your consulate for CP will be in India).

For CP vs AOS debate, I recommend searching this forum, and browsing immihelp.com, Sheela Murthy's website (http://www.murthy.com/UDaosvcp.html), Jackson-Hartog's site (http://www.jackson-hertogs.com/process/pr.htm), Baker Law (http://www.bakerlawcorp.com/immproc/CP VS AOS.doc), immigration-info forums (http://immigration-information.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13), Immigration Law (http://www.immigrationlawgroup.net/faq/AOS_CP.php), etc. etc. etc.

Best wishes,

Jigesh
