1. Can I do medicals in US and take results to the consulate abroad ?

2. Are recent paycheck usually required for interview - so if I happen to be on bench w/o pay between projects while on interview, could it raise an issue ?

3. Are US tax returns and W2s required for interview (how many years back) ?

4. Have you heard of any problems of future employment cases in consulates ? Are officers suspicious that an applicant may never start working for a sponsoring company ?

5. Do consulate officers have access to entire immigration record of an applicant and spouse, e.g. LC/I-140s from other company than the GC sponsor and spouses LC/I-140s ?

6. Are there any new security procedures that could delay GC stamping and return back to US ?

Thanks,

Rvalla is correct in all his observations. However i will give you my account of the interview in mumbai. Do remember it is only my account and yours may be different

1. Can I do medicals in US and take results to the consulate abroad ?

***No

2. Are recent paycheck usually required for interview - so if I happen to be on bench w/o pay between projects while on interview, could it raise an issue ?

*** Should carry them but i was not asked to produce them only a letter from my company stating i will be employed in my position.

3. Are US tax returns and W2s required for interview (how many years back) ?

***I was not asked for them but last three years is what you need.
4. Have you heard of any problems of future employment cases in consulates ? Are officers suspicious that an applicant may never start working for a sponsoring company ?

***Yes they are always suspicious that why they will ask you things about the company which you should know like when was it started. My interview was very intense read about it in "Oct 2003 CP thread"

5. Do consulate officers have access to entire immigration record of an applicant and spouse, e.g. LC/I-140s from other company than the GC sponsor and spouses LC/I-140s ?

*** Sure they do but i noticed that when i was being interviewed all the officeir had was PAcket 3 and 4 infront of him. Is say that because i had a long history of dealing with immigration. I once applied for I 485 based on marriage and withdraw it. Also i changed my visa from visitor to student. Thus i expected a huge file infront of him but that was not the case.

6. Are there any new security procedures that could delay GC stamping and return back to US ?
*** One event would definitely be an attack God forbid on US installation that cause the embassy to shut down hence no interview.

Unless You are 100% clean, CP is very risky to go through.
Even with a clean record there are people who faced problems at the consulate. So careful it's your future at stake!

I just want to corroborate that information with few comments of my own}
1. Can I do medicals in US and take results to the consulate abroad ?

{No. Have to be done at one of the panel doctors of the
consulate}

2. Are recent paycheck usually required for interview - so if I happen to be on bench w/o pay between projects while on interview, could it raise an issue ?

{Pay stubs are required. Whether they actually ask for it
or not depends on the individual case. My suggestion would
be to somehow convince your employer to give you the
paystubs when you actually go there for interview. }

3. Are US tax returns and W2s required for interview (how many years back) ?

{3 years or the actual no. of years you lived in US which ever
is lesser}

4. Have you heard of any problems of future employment cases in consulates ? Are officers suspicious that an applicant may never start working for a sponsoring company ?

{They are not automatically suspicious of this, unless there
is something else which triggers it}

5. Do consulate officers have access to entire immigration record of an applicant and spouse, e.g. LC/I-140s from other company than the GC sponsor and spouses LC/I-140s ?

{Is there anything that you are concerned about in your file?
If not , then you should not worry}

6. Are there any new security procedures that could delay GC stamping and return back to US ?

{There is a random name check, but this is rare }
Thanks,

{my responses}
