To be able to give specific information it is necessary to know, a) Whether this is an employment based GC interview or family based. b) Whether your wife is currently living in US or stays in India? The document you were referring to, is not passport clearance but Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) . Yes! this is a required document. Raju
