Can anyone please share their experience on CP in Moscow?
we just won the DV-2007 (low EU number 17XX) and hope to get interview there soon. worried about delays, arbitrariness of the process.

some more questions/info abt moscow CP

-we found that police clearance seems to take forever- my husbands father was told "a few months"
-does anyone know whether a permanent immigration passport is required at time of interview for russian citizens...or is the regular "temporary" one sufficient
-what abt at the time of leaving for the US?
DO HELP US OUT! Pozhalusta :)

There is DV Lottery forum right underneath. They know much more about this sort of issues. Ask LucyMO. She is a Russian national.

Afaik, you permanent immigration passport (such called PMG passport) is never required by U.S. officials. A valid regular foreign passport (aka tourist's one) will be enough for imm.visa stamping.
The stamp is valid for 6 months, afaik. There exist some companies in Russia that can "speed up" or "expedite" you police clearance. I suspect they simply make a fake certificate, but I don't know for sure.

Don't expect to get the visa stamped at the time of the interview. They can put it off if your security check has not been completed by the time of the interview.
