do we need to carry with us all the 1040 forms which we had prepared to fill in our tax. Please post your answer, as depending on that I can eliminate all the unnecessary 1040 paper burden.

This is OK -- but bring your W-2s to show the withholding too.
I have visited this forum for 2 years and have never read that were asked for. However, they\'re good to have as proof you\'ve maintained non-immigrant status and further evidence that your employer is going to pay you the LC salary when you return as a PR.
