CP done at Bombay on 12/26 - Cash $ not accepted

In spite of a notice next to the cashier that says 50, 20 & 10 dollar notes will be accepted, the embassy said that they have stopped accepting cash. Had to rush out to get a draft - Standard Chartered Grindlays bank next door obliged by giving a draft within 15 minutes, against a credit card; as they too could not accept US currency.

Rest everything was cool. Got passport back at 4.30.

Delhi Accepts USD Cash

I paid in USD in $100 bills.
It is advisable to carry some $10 bills to make correct amount as I had to wait some time for cashier to pay me back $10.

That\'s good Patta Hara - Bombay consulate said that they have clearly mentioned in P4 that only demand drafts from a nationalized or reputed private/ foreign bank will be accepted, no cash, that\'s why they refused cash. There\'s also a notice that says DDs from scheduled bank will not be accepted - only from nationalized or reputed private/ foreign bank
