Gurus,

I am planning to convert my case to CP. It will be Mumbai. I heard that Mumbai consulate schedules interview based on I824 receipt and attorney certified I140.

Is it worth? How much time do you anticipate for interview date?

Thanks in advance!

Needless to say research more but at a high level DO CP if:
1. Youve (and other applicants) been been in status throughout your stay in usa. And there is no criminal/ illegal/ unlawful / fraudulent past.
2. There is no contagious medical condition (like hiv/ syphilis/ std...).
3. Your job is 100% secured for the time of I-140 and until CP interview atleast.

It is well worth it if you meet the above 3 criteria since you will save big time with CP as opposed to AOS.

Since Mumbai accepts AC I-140 based on I-824 receipt...you will get an interview in about 3.5-4.5 months from the time Bombay consulate has issued you a bmb case number.

Thanks kdivekar.

how much additional expense should I take into account for converting into CP? I have already paid for 485 etc.

These are the 4 main expenses:

* CP processing itself will take $335 per applicant.
* Plus I-824 filing fees.
* Plus attorney fees which is variable!
* FEDEX expenses
