CP - Biometrics after arrival?

I can't find the answer anywhere, so I'm hoping people can share their experiences. After you arrived in the States - after consular processing (not AOS) - did you need to have your biometrics done, or did USCIS just eventually mail you your green card?

I won the 2012 green card lottery and will be entering the country in a couple of weeks, but I need to leave America shortly afterwards and I don't want to be out of the country if I have to get my biometrics scanned, which seems to be the case with everyone who got their green card from within America and had to go through an Adjustment of Status, but it seems to me that none of the consular processing cases seem to have that stipulation. It would be good to hear from other CP cases.

Thank you

You will be fingerprinted on your first entry into US. There is no other biometric scan needed. Your green card will be mailed to a US address in 4-6 weeks.
