Cp and H-1 B stamping Help please

Hi Gurus,

I got a quick question about Visa stamping on my passport. I had H-1b visa stamped on my passport till Feb 2004 and I have a 7th year H-1 extension with I-94 till Feb 2005. My concern is should I get Visa re stamped on my passport before I go for CP interview or is it not required. Basically it boils down to if I should have a latest Visa stamped on passport before going to CP interview. Any help appreciated?

You don't need a stamp but do need the I-797 approval to be with you. They basically cancel all visas before issuing the IV so it's a wastage of money to get H1B stamped and then cancelled.
