My original I-140 approval notice is with the lawyer and I am not planning to use his services due to the lack of time.

My employer has a courtesy copy of the same. Can I use courtesy copy of I-40 approval notice (I-797C, Notice of Action) with I-485 application?

Please advise.

Yep, I think you just need the photocopy of I-140 Receipt notice (or better still the photocopy of I-140 approval notice)....

U never file the original I-140 approval notice....I guess...
Only for Labor Certification...one needs to file the Original Labor Certification...

I made my employer insist that lawyer fax several copies of approved I-140.
And guess what, it does not look any different than my courtesy copy!!

All wordings are absolutely the same, except that on mine it says it is a courtesy copy, and the original approval had been sent to a lawyer.

Bottomline, I made many copies of the actual faxed approval (lawyer's one) and sent that with my AOS packet.

Hope this helps you decide what to do!

Thanks for the insight, banta4gc.

Its true that photocopy is good for I-140.
But, my question was whether a photocopy of "courtesy copy" of I-140 that my employer received.

I did more research on this topic, but found conflicting answers. My conclusion is that its always a good idea to include photocopy of the "original" I-140 notice if at all possible.
