Couple of Trips of less then 12 months???

In my situation i may need to be away from US for long even after availing entery permit . What if i keep visiting within 12 months to keep my GC alive????
Will they ask me questions at the port of entry or let me smooth???
any responce will be appreciated

i think my question was not clear... To keep the GC alive if some body visits frequently once in 12 months and doesnot expect the time to be counted will he be able to keep GC alive??? and will they ask questions on port of entry that why he is comming once in 12 months some thing like that ???
