Couple of newbie questions on transfers

Guys,

I just received an email notification from USCIS that my case is transferred to the San Jose office. There is no apparent reason for that (no criminal background or out-of-status). My case is pretty straightforward except that my company was acquired by a successor of interest.

I am an EB-1 (Multinational manager); my I-140 was approved 3 months ago and my I-485 is pending for about 2.5 months now.

My questions:
- Will I receive an online message from the San Jose office when they're ready to schedule the interview, or should I depand exclusively on US mail?

- Is it good or bad?

- Is is true that USCIS selects cases in random for transfer?

- Have you heard of anyone who failed an interview?

- My lawyer is based of another state. Considering that my case is straightforward, is he essential for the interview?

Thank you!

You will get a notification via USPS only. If it helps your lawyer will get a letter too.
- Is it good or bad?

Niether good nor bad.

- Is is true that USCIS selects cases in random for transfer?

Yes and no. If your case was 245 i or Ac21 then No . random change of address or any other clarification regarding some doc you submitted could also be the cause.
Be confident in your interview and answer to all question to the specific and you should be ok.

- Have you heard of anyone who failed an interview?

I have heard /read the interviewing officer asking for more dcuments and case being delayed but yes nothing on a denial except in a case where the sponser was a brother. His case is in Motion to reopen.
also a case ( like mine) maybe delayed cuz of Back ground check

- My lawyer is based of another state. Considering that my case is straightforward, is he essential for the interview?

A lawyer in not essential but my advise is to take one as if there are any issues you are not aware of the lawyer can handle. In my case the lawyer did not say anything except that she kind of reprimanded the officer for calling us very late.
A lawyer is nothing but a fly on the wall.but it is his /her mere presence that makes you more comfortable and and officer too in most cases know the attorneys so it helps to break the ice.

Thank you!
You are welcome :)

I am not a lawyer and neither do I pretend to be one.
Above statements are opinions and opinions only.
If you need more help call a lawyer :D
